This evening I attended a forum of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Hannover called "Afrika wohin?" (which means something like "Africa, what will your future be?"). We had interesting presentations and discussions with the renowned best-selling author Asfa Wossen-Asserate talking about African transmigration, politics and economy. I really enjoyed it and got into contact with many different, fascinating people giving me food for thought for the upcoming work in April. Especially continental problems of Africa have been made clear: Nearly 50 percent of the African population are under the age of 18. The African population is growing constantly. Statistically, a women is expected to have 5-7 children. In addition to that, many people in different African countries fear insecurity, which leads to transmigration within the African continent. Therefore it is clear that most refugees do not migrate from Africa to Europe but take refuge within Africa.
Heute Abend war ich auf dem Forum "Afrika wohin?" der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung. Es gab interessante Vorträge und Diskussionen unter anderem mit dem Bestsellerautor Asfa Wossen-Asserate, der vor allem über Völkerwanderung innerhalb Afrikas, Politik und Wirtschaft sprach. Ich hatte durch dieses Treffen Kontakt zu verschiedenen, faszinierenden Menschen bekommen und erhielt wichtige Denkanstöße für die kommende Arbeit in Togo. Vor allem kontinentalen Probleme Afrikas sind mir dadurch einmal deutlicher geworden. Zum Beispiel sind 50 Prozent der Bevölkerung Afrikas unter 18 Jahren. Aufgrund von stetigem Bevölkerungswachstum (eine Frau bekommt zwischen 5-7 Kindern) und Unsicherheiten innerhalb einiger Länder kommt es zur Transmigration vor allem innerhalb Afrikas. Damit wird klar, dass die meisten Flüchtlinge nicht z.B. von Afrika nach Europa kommen, sondern sich innerhalb Afrikas bewegen.
